Some of my favourite memories of my late father are of the way he told stories.
He had this rare gift for drawing people together, holding them in a joyful trance as he spoke. It wasn’t just his words, but his warmth, rhythm, and presence that left people smiling long after. That has always stayed with me—and in many ways, it planted the first seed for my own storytelling journey.
I once was as a ghostwriter, pouring my feelings into an anonymous social media account after heartbreak, all from an office desk job. I found solace in writing—and joy when my words resonated with others. Years later, life shifted in ways I never expected.
After working in the legal field, I stepped back to spend time at home with my babies. It was both beautiful and disorienting—rewarding on one hand, yet filled with questions about identity and purpose on the other. In that season, I found myself surrounded by stories again: the books I read with my kids, the late-night conversations with friends about their dreams, the resilience of entrepreneurs, like the father of my children, who poured themselves into building something from scratch.
Slowly, it clicked. Stories are the thread. They carry us through the hardest nights and celebrate the brightest mornings. They connect us when little else can. That realization became the foundation for Touching Tales Publishing House.
I began by writing my own children’s series which was inspired by my youngest and his firsts. Soon, I was creating merchandise to truly celebrate the joy of reading and writing for all.
Now, as I work to support other authors, my vision is to build a platform that uplifts and shares their voices as well.
Whenever I doubt myself, I think of my father’s voice—how one story could light up an entire room. If his stories could bring people together, perhaps this work could do the same. That’s what led me here, to this project that I feel so deeply about.
This blog is my way of continuing that legacy—honouring the magic of storytelling and inviting others to join in. Each post will highlight one inspiring story at a time: stories of resilience, creativity, and courage that remind us we are not alone. Because when we share our stories, we don’t just look back at where we’ve been—we light the path forward for someone else.
